Waterton Lakes Course History

I would think that this section would be the easiest to complete.  Wrong!!  I have taken a look at a variety of sources and have found that the history of the course is fraught with conflicting or difficult to sort out information.  One source has Stanley Thomson personally setting each blade of grass while another source has him only signing the plans for the course.  However, there are some interesting pictures and information that is reliable for those with an interest in the development of the course.

The original design was a nine hole course that was put into action in 1929 with a second nine holes added in 1939.

The following pictures show some of the development of the course when it was first constructed.  The first shows the plan of the course while the second shows players on the course with the "Prince of  Wales" and the Bertha valley in the background.  I will make periodic changes to this section as information becomes available and to show more of the interesting pictures I have.
